Morris James is honored to announce that personal injury attorney Wilson Gualpa is the 2022 recipient of the Haile L. Alford Leadership Award. Award recipients were recognized at the annual Alford Memorial Breakfast which took place on Thursday, May 12, 2022 at the Dupont Country Club in Wilmington, DE.
The Leadership Award is presented to a member of the Multicultural Judges and Lawyers Section of the Delaware State Bar Association ("MJL Section") who exhibits leadership and dedication to the section’s mission and goals. Wilson Gualpa is a bilingual attorney in the personal injury practice, who can provide legal representation in both English and Spanish. He focuses his practice on representing clients in personal injury cases, including automobile accidents, premise liability cases, and workers’ compensation matters.
The Alford Memorial Breakfast honors the life and legacy of Judge Haile L. Alford, the first African American woman appointed to serve on the Superior Court of Delaware. Judge Alford was an avid proponent of increased diversity in the Delaware Bar. She was appointed by Governor Mike Castle in 1992 and served on the bench for 11 years.
